Lauren and Kyle are over the moon for their little girl, sweet baby girl A, and in February we did a sweet maternity photo shoot showcasing Lauren’s adorable bump and the joyful expectancy of this lovely couple.
It is already clear how much baby A is loved, and Lauren simply glowed. I focused on simple, timeless portraiture. I sought to create classic images that will look as beautiful when baby A is grown up as they do today. For maternity especially, I love simple, clean lines showcasing the sweet baby bump and focusing on the emotions of the parents-to-be. Family shoots can be fun and even a little chaotic, but maternity shoots give me the chance to have a quieter approach and give a couple the opportunity to enjoy one another and this special time in their lives as they await a new life.
Here are some of my favorites from this special session!

Last month, I attended the inaugural ComeUnity Workshop in Athens, GA, headed by Phillip and Eileen Blume, and it was such a valuable asset to my business. Along the way, although shooting wasn’t our primary focus, we took some time to do a couple styled shoots. Today I’m featuring a few of my favorites from the couples shoot!
Claire and Ryan were so adorable together! Claire Diana Photography is a talented photographer in the Athens area, and while I think photographers can sometimes be tricky subjects in front of the camera, Claire was just as sweet and relaxed as could be! And she and Ryan paired their sweetheart personalities with model good looks! They certainly made our job easy! We had a blast in this backyard photo shoot.
In a few days I’ll share a general review of ComeUnity, and a few more photos from behind the scenes! Stay tuned!

Wow! It’s been a whirlwind since I returned ten days ago from the inaugural ComeUnity Workshop in Athens, GA, and there will certainly be a couple more posts to come! I learned so much from Phillip and Eileen Blume, and I can’t wait to start implementing some exciting changes in my business. And though the focus of the workshop was not specifically shooting, of course when you get a bunch of photographers together we all have fun shooting and learning from one another.
Today I’ll reveal a few images from the wedding portion of our styled shoot. There were some AMAZING designers, artists, and assistants who staged our scene, and let me tell you, keeping everyone (and everything!) fresh and beautiful in the hot, sticky Georgia September weather isn’t for the faint of heart. We had a gorgeous real-life husband and wife model for us, and they were wonderful, and very patient with all of our ideas and playing.
I can’t wait to share more from the second part of our styled shoot, as well as a general review of this awesome workshop… but that will have to wait until later this week! Stay tuned!

Stephanie and Kyle joined me for a sunset engagement portrait session, and together we had a blast!
When Stephanie’s best friend married Kyle’s brother, the paths of both crossed… and it was only natural that these two who loved their besties so dearly and spent so much time together would also fall in love with each other. Kyle’s quiet calm and easygoing nature is a perfect foil for Stephanie’s bubbly personality. We shared so much fun on this shoot: gentle teasing, big hugs, and lots of laughter.
Kyle and Stephanie, congratulations! I can’t wait for your wedding in March!

Just a teensy sneak peek today… but check back later this week for more from this couple’s fun engagement session!

Today I’m sharing a special graduating senior sneak peek for Claire!
In all of my sessions, my foremost priority is to bring out the best in my clients. This doesn’t just mean the best aesthetics, but also the best person; I want sessions to reflect the person and the “real” person in front of the camera… not just make everyone look like moody, smoldering models.
Graduating seniors are fun, because they are at an important crossroads in life, but are usually more willing than their older counterparts to cut loose and have a little fun. Claire’s session was a blast. We sang, we laughed, we danced.
A special feature that sets my senior sessions apart, too, is that I seek to involve the parents in helping to create a lasting tribute to their senior, one that celebrates their high school graduate and their strengths, and also offers their own words of wisdom or special memories. I guide parents through a simple questionnaire and the answers are incorporated into a one-of-a-kind slideshow.
