Wow! It’s been a whirlwind since I returned ten days ago from the inaugural ComeUnity Workshop in Athens, GA, and there will certainly be a couple more posts to come! I learned so much from Phillip and Eileen Blume, and I can’t wait to start implementing some exciting changes in my business. And though the focus of the workshop was not specifically shooting, of course when you get a bunch of photographers together we all have fun shooting and learning from one another.
Today I’ll reveal a few images from the wedding portion of our styled shoot. There were some AMAZING designers, artists, and assistants who staged our scene, and let me tell you, keeping everyone (and everything!) fresh and beautiful in the hot, sticky Georgia September weather isn’t for the faint of heart. We had a gorgeous real-life husband and wife model for us, and they were wonderful, and very patient with all of our ideas and playing.
I can’t wait to share more from the second part of our styled shoot, as well as a general review of this awesome workshop… but that will have to wait until later this week! Stay tuned!
These are the only discounted sessions I will be offering before Christmas! This is an awesome chance to purchase wonderful art for your family while supporting a family fighting a tough battle.
I am so excited to announce an extra-special day of limited edition portrait sessions, Sessions for Seth. Many local people know the Woods family, because they are hugely involved in our community and church. The Woods family is fighting a tough battle, as their son Seth was recently diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer. Costs are mounting with this, with frequent commutes to specialists and expensive protocols.
I don’t know the Woods well, but I can only imagine how I would feel if my own Seth were facing this battle. I feel called to do what I can to help them, and together I think we can make a huge difference!
I’ve lined up a gorgeous, private location in Covington for our sessions on October 15. There are several time slots available, each for 20 minutes of shooting time. After your session, we will meet about two weeks later for an in-person “reveal” of your image, and you can make your purchase selections. The reveal is the most awesome part of my job! It is so exciting to get to enjoy your images together. And best of all, 100% (yes, all!!!!) of the profits from your reservation fee AND the digital collections will be donated to the Wood family.
This is the perfect time to get a taste of The Blessed Everyday experience if you’ve been considering it, all while supporting a family who needs our help. Please sign up today for your spot!

Is 2016 the year you’re going to take control of your camera? Or maybe you just want to start setting solid goals for your photography? Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you’re welcome at our women’s photo group, held the third Wednesday of every month. Friends, I’m looking for someone with a high school senior (graduating 2015, or possibly even someone who just graduated who did not get senior photos), who is interested in a “reimagining” of the senior photo experience to be a model for my new “Benediction” high school senior celebration sessions. This session would be a celebration of the senior but involve the whole family through short interviews and individual portraits as well as a few family photos. I have a vision for senior sessions that goes beyond just getting great photos (although you’d get that too), but also involves fostering an environment where you can speak life into your graduate and bless them as they prepare for their next step in life. Don’t worry; I will be providing the tools to help you share your love for your graduate, in a stress-free, low-key environment as I come alongside you.
If you would like to be considered for the “pilot” of my new session format–and the reduced session prices that come with being my guinea pig, please contact me. Ideal candidates would also be willing to spread the word about the awesomeness of your experience (because I am confident it *will* be awesome) to other 2015 graduating seniors, and would have the opportunity to earn product credit for doing so. But above all, candidates–and their families–must buy into the vision for these integrated family/graduate shoots.
This is for families and parents who:
Is this you? Then please, contact me and tell me a bit about you and your family!
* think their graduate is awesome and are proud of the young man or young woman they have become
* desire portraits that reveal the true heart of their child and go beyond the typical “model-type” senior shoots
* have pride and love their child, but would like a guiding hand to help express it
* have a heart full of well wishes and blessings and would like to leave their graduate with a “Benediction”
* believe in beautiful keepsakes
Everyone who knows me knows that if I am with my kids, the baby is most likely riding along in a carrier or wrap of some sort! I have long wanted to do something special as an homage to babywearing, and now is the time!
announcing the “Worn with Love” mini sessions!
I have reserved just a few special “Worn with Love” mini sessions to take place in Covington on the afternoon of Sunday, May 18. During your 20-minute session, we will make beautiful photos of you and your little one. Does dad babywear too, or do you want a family portrait as well? That’s great! The only stipulation is that babywearing must be a featured part of your session. We will capture baby cuddled close on you, or perhaps some solos of your little one curled up in your favorite wrap. I am here to capture the intimacy and love that babywearing helps us all share with our little ones!
For $199, you’ll receive a 20-minute session, a beautiful professionally mounted 11×14″ print, and rights to 5 digital images for printing and sharing.
but don’t hesitate, there are limited spaces available, and I rarely offer mini sessions!
To book your mini session, head over to my marketplace page, and select your desired time slot. I will then be in touch with further details, our location, and everything you need to know for a gorgeous mini session!
Let’s celebrate babywearing and our little ones together!
